Abstract: The present research analyzes the religious phenomenon, belief and faith as natural elements inherent to human beings, asking if, in fact, there is a possibility of dissociation of these phenomena from the social and political context, when it comes to citizenship. The Brazilian State is officially secular, that is, there is no official religion professed by the State, however, such secularism does not mean aversion to God or approach to religion, since the Brazilian nation is a nation believer in God and Christian majority, safeguarding everyone, even atheism. The Brazilian Federal Constitution has a close correlation with the Holy Bible, since it has extracted from Christian values the principles of the Dignity of the Human Person, Equality and Freedom on which all the State's operationality is based, since it is focused on its constitutive element more important, that is, the people. These principles are losing their efficacy in the face of a contemporary world based on materialism and exacerbated individualism, and because of this problem, the Christian Doctrine, because it is inclusive, presents itself as an instrument for the recovery of those values that are so sublime and necessary for the common good of society and strengthening of the Democratic Rule of Law. This work was based on the thought of several authors who wrote about the proposed theme.
